Puppy Training Secrets

The whole framework in one sitting. What your puppy is actually doing when they “misbehave,” why most advice online contradicts itself, and the order to do things in so week two doesn’t feel like week one all over again.

The full training video library

Watch me actually do it, with real dogs, in real sessions. Sorted by problem, so when it’s 9pm and they won’t stop biting, you find the fix in about ten seconds instead of scrolling YouTube for an hour.

  • 13 videos and growing
  • Organized by problem, not by upload date
  • Watch on your phone, in the yard, mid-session
  • Free access — you’re not on a trial clock

If this is your week, you’re not doing it wrong

Every new puppy owner hits the same wall around day 10. It isn’t a sign you picked the wrong dog. It’s a sign nobody handed you the sequence.

×You’ve cleaned the same spot on the rug three times today
×Your hands look like you lost a fight with a stapler
×The crate turns into a siren the second you walk away
×You’ve watched 40 videos and every one contradicts the last
×They know their name — they just don’t care
×You’re quietly wondering what you signed up for

Here’s the part nobody tells you: a puppy isn’t misbehaving. A puppy is guessing. Your only job in month one is to make the right answer the easiest one to find.

What’s inside the video library

Real training concepts, taught in plain English — the same ones we used at SeaWorld, applied in your living room.

01

Behavior Drift

Why a behavior your puppy “knew” slowly falls apart — and how to catch it before it does.

02

Criteria

Deciding exactly what counts as “right” before you ask. Fuzzy criteria is why most training stalls.

03

Desensitization

How to make scary things boring — the vacuum, strangers, the car — one small step at a time.

04

Differential Reinforcement

Making the behavior you want pay better than the one you don’t, so the good one wins on its own.

05

Discriminative Stimulus

The SD — the signal that starts every behavior. The same system we used with killer whales.

06

Extinguish

How to make an unwanted behavior fade out for good — without a single correction.

07

Eye Contact

The behavior everything else is built on: a puppy who checks in with you by choice.

08

The Best Treats In The World

What actually motivates your puppy, what to skip, and why the reward has to be worth the work.

09

Training Time

How long, how often, and why five great minutes beats a sloppy hour — for both of you.

10

Equipment

The short list that actually matters, and what not to waste your money on.

…and lots more

Thirteen videos today, sorted so you find the fix in seconds — not after an hour of scrolling.

Always growing

New videos added as we record them — and you keep access to every one of them.

Kim and Zahid Buttar, the trainers behind Elite Puppy Training

Before we trained puppies, we trained animals that weigh four tons and can’t be put on a leash.

Kim and I spent years as animal trainers at SeaWorld. When your student is that big, force isn’t on the menu — the only thing that works is teaching an animal to want to give you the behavior. You build it with clear markers, clean timing, and a reason to say yes.

That’s the same method in the ebook and every video in the library. It’s why Elite Puppy Training builds thinking dogs instead of obedient ones. A dog that thinks holds it together when you’re not there to remind them. A dog that only obeys falls apart the second something interesting shows up.

You don’t need a background like ours to run this. You need the sequence, in the right order, from someone who’s actually done it.

What owners say

Real words from real people.

★★★★★

Kim and Z are phenomenal trainers. All of my puppies, and my clients’ puppies, that have attended the Elite Puppy Training 8-week in-home program have come back satisfied and happy. I can’t stress how important these concepts are — I have dogs that are four and five years old that went through the program at eight weeks old, and they are night and day different than any of the other dogs we have.

Thank you, Elite Puppy Training, for taking such wonderful care of our puppy, Sinbad. Kim and Z are amazing. Sinbad was enrolled in the 8-week program and is well versed in the following seven behaviors: sit, down, house, ultimate workout, recall with name, recall with whistle, and place. The instructions are clear and easy to follow — they provide reinforcement notes, videos, and directions, as well as great suggestions for leashes, toys, etc. I love the positive reinforcement method used in the program. Z kept me informed of Sinbad’s progress all along the way, and always was and is available for questions. I highly recommend Elite Puppy Training for your next forever friend’s training.

Text message from Chris B.: Hey guys just a quick update before ya'll leave on vacation! I worked with Willow on house like Kim said and she did great! She even went into her crate off and on throughout the day voluntarily when I would go into the laundry room to do laundry! When I asked her to go into her house at dinner time she went in there perfectly fine and only yapped for about 5 minutes! Progress!! Thought you guys would be happy to hear this! Thank ya'll so much and I hope you have a fabulous vacation!

Straight answers

Both the ebook and the videos are free? What’s the catch?

No catch. The ebook downloads, the library unlocks, no card. I also sell a paid Whistle Recall Course, and you’ll hear about it — because it’s the honest next step if you want off-leash reliability. If you never buy it, the ebook and the library still work. That’s the whole deal.

Why do I have to give my email to get it?

Because the library lives behind a login, and the email is how you get back into it. It’s also how I send you the next video when I record one. One click unsubscribes you and you keep everything you already have.

My puppy is 4 months old. Am I too late?

No. The sequence works whether your puppy came home yesterday or three months ago. Earlier is easier, but “easier” isn’t the same as “required.” Start where you are.

How much time does this take every day?

Ten to fifteen minutes of actual training, split into short reps. Puppies learn in small doses. Long sessions make both of you worse at this.

Do I need a clicker, a whistle, or special gear?

Nothing. Your voice and some of their regular food covers everything in the free library. The whistle comes later, and only if you decide to go that direction.

Is this force-free?

Yes. No prong collars, no e-collars, no shouting, no alpha rolls. The method is marker-based and reward-driven — the same approach used with marine mammals, where corrections aren’t an option in the first place.

What breed is this for?

All of them. Breed changes the energy level and how fast you’ll move — it doesn’t change how learning works. A doodle, a shepherd, and a rescue mutt all learn the same way.

Do you train dogs in person?

Yes, in the Lake Norman, NC area. Reply to any email I send and tell me what you’re working on, or email bestelitepuppytraining@gmail.com.

One email. The book and the whole library.

You already did the hard part — you brought home a puppy and you’re trying to do it right. That instinct is the whole ballgame. Everything from here is just knowing what order to do things in.
